Soldotna Stars' standout flag football player, 17-year-old Maya Jenkins, has caught the eye of college scouts from the University of Nebraska and NAIA programs Ottawa University, Keiser University and Midland University. The 3A standout's impressive skills on the field have made her a top prospect for the NCAA's Emerging Sports for Women program. Jenkins' recruitment is heating up as Nebraska, the only Power 4 school with a fully funded D1 varsity program, begins to take notice. NAIA programs, which offer active scholarships, are also vying for her attention. To secure a spot at one of these programs, Jenkins will need to meet NCAA eligibility requirements and potentially visit campuses for official recruiting visits. With UT Arlington's D1 program in development, Jenkins' options are expanding, and her future in flag football is looking bright.
