Trevon Smith: From Sidelines to Starting Tight End
Trevon Smith's 2025 preseason was cut short after suffering a season-ending ACL injury in August. But the 6-foot-3, 220-pound sophomore tight end from Soldotna High School, home of the 3A Stars, has made a remarkable recovery. Last season, Smith averaged 7.5 yards per reception in limited action, showcasing his athleticism and receiving skills. This summer, Smith has been a standout at the Stars' strength and conditioning camp, impressing coaches with his strength and agility. 'He's been working hard to regain his explosiveness,' Soldotna coach Ryan Decker said. 'Trevon's got the size and speed to be a dominant tight end in our league.' With a strong offseason and a healthy knee, Smith is poised to take on a starting role this fall. Scouts are watching to see how he adapts to the increased workload and whether he can maintain his impressive production from last year's limited snaps.
