South Anchorage Wolverines Name New Defensive Coordinator
The South Anchorage Wolverines have elevated assistant coach, Ryan Thompson, to defensive coordinator. Thompson has spent five seasons developing talent within the program, contributing to the team's recent success. The Wolverines have been a consistent force in 4A Alaska high school football, boasting a 25-15 record over the past three seasons. Thompson's promotion is expected to strengthen the team's defensive unit, a key area of focus for the 2026 season. The move is also seen as a strategic recruiting tool, as Thompson's familiarity with the program and local talent will help attract top prospects to the Wolverines' roster. With the ASAA's competitive 4A division set to heat up this fall, South Anchorage looks to build on its momentum with Thompson at the helm of the defense.
