DeShawn Johnson Commits to Baylor
South Anchorage Wolverines cornerback DeShawn Johnson has committed to Baylor University for the Class of 2026. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Johnson chose Baylor for its aggressive defensive scheme, which aligns with his skills as a ball-hawking cornerback. Johnson also cited the Bears' depth chart opportunity, where he will compete for a starting spot immediately. Additionally, Baylor's renowned academic program and research opportunities were a major draw for the Anchorage native. Johnson had previously committed to Oregon State in January 2024, but reopened his recruitment in April 2025. With a 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT score, Johnson is well-positioned for academic success at the next level. Johnson's commitment marks a significant addition to Baylor's 2026 recruiting class, which is expected to be one of the top classes in the Big 12 Conference.
