Boosting Kicking Performance: The 'Rapid Fire' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Eagle River WolvesยทWednesday, July 22, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For 4A programs like the Eagle River Wolves, developing a reliable kicker is crucial for success. To improve accuracy and build leg strength, we recommend incorporating the 'Rapid Fire' drill into your pre-season training routine. This drill involves setting up five kicking stations, each 10 yards apart, with a kicking tee at the center of each station. Players will kick from each station in rapid succession, aiming for the center of the tee. Start with 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. As players become more comfortable, increase the difficulty by adding a slight incline or reducing the rest time. Coaching cues include 'follow through' and 'keep the laces down.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the pressure and quick decision-making required in live situations.
