Sprint to Success: Service Cougars' Speed Drill for 4A S Players

๐Ÿ“ Service CougarsยทThursday, July 23, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the Service Cougars' summer camp, S players are honing their speed and agility with a dynamic drill that translates to game performance. The 'Sprint to the Hash' drill involves 3 sets of 5 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start at the line of scrimmage, sprinting 10 yards to the hash mark, then immediately change direction, shuffling 5 yards to the sideline. From there, they explosively cut back 10 yards to the starting point, finishing with a 5-yard dash back to the line. Coaches cue players to 'stay low and fast,' emphasizing quick footwork and explosive acceleration. This drill simulates the sudden changes of direction S players face in the game, helping them develop the speed and agility to stay one step ahead of defenders.
