Hunter Davis Commits to UTSA
Hewitt-Trussville Huskies cornerback Hunter Davis has verbally committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for the class of 2027. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back chose UTSA due to its athletic fit within the Roadrunners' 4-2-5 defensive scheme, which will allow him to utilize his ball-hawking skills in the secondary. Davis also cited the opportunity to contribute immediately, as UTSA's cornerback depth chart is expected to be relatively thin for the upcoming season. Additionally, UTSA's academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering courses, aligns with Davis' academic interests. Davis previously held a commitment to another program but decommitted in May to re-evaluate his options. He is expected to be a key contributor for the Huskies in the 2026 season.
