Carson Young Commits to Texas Tech
Carson Young, a Class of 2027 cornerback from Auburn, Alabama, has committed to Texas Tech University. Young, who played for the Auburn Tigers (7A) high school team, chose the Red Raiders over other Power Five offers. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback cited Texas Tech's defensive scheme, which features a 4-2-5 alignment, as a key factor in his decision. He believes the system will allow him to showcase his skills and contribute immediately to the team. Young also praised the academic program at Texas Tech, which he said will provide him with the support he needs to succeed both on and off the field. This marks Young's second commitment, as he previously pledged to Auburn before decommitting in April. He is expected to enroll at Texas Tech in the fall of 2027 and begin his high school career with the Red Raiders.
