Husky Linebacker Drill: 'Read and React' to Dominate on Fridays

๐Ÿ“ Hewitt-Trussville HuskiesยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Hewitt-Trussville Huskies linebackers are gearing up for a dominant season with the 'Read and React' drill. Designed to improve reaction time and decision-making, this drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps. Players line up 5 yards off the ball, with a defender in a stance 3 yards off the line of scrimmage. The quarterback calls a play, and the defender reacts to the handoff or pass. Coaches cue: 'Read the ball, react to the play.' This drill translates to game performance by mirroring real-game scenarios, where linebackers must quickly diagnose and respond to the offense's intentions. By mastering the 'Read and React' drill, Huskies linebackers will be better equipped to make game-changing plays and lead their team to victory.
