Kicker Prep Drill for 7A Programs: Building Consistency

๐Ÿ“ Thompson WarriorsยทThursday, July 16, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The summer months are crucial for kickers to hone their craft and build consistency. For Thompson Warriors' kicker, Jack Harris, a specific drill has made all the difference. The 'Targeted Approach' drill involves 3 sets of 10 reps, with each set focusing on a different aspect of kicking: accuracy, distance, and pressure. For accuracy, Harris aims for a 3-inch radius around the uprights. For distance, he targets a minimum of 40 yards. For pressure, he kicks with a defender in his face. Coaching cues include 'follow through' and 'stay balanced.' This drill translates to game performance by building mental toughness and physical consistency. By the time the season starts, Harris will be ready to make clutch kicks for the Warriors.
