Huskies' Kicker Prepares for Season with Focused Flick Drill
To prepare for the upcoming season, Hewitt-Trussville Huskies' kicker will focus on the Flick Drill, a critical exercise for building accuracy and power. The drill consists of 3 sets of 20 reps, with 2 minutes of rest between sets. Players will stand 10 yards from the kicker, holding a small target or cone. The kicker will attempt to hit the target with a spiral pass, focusing on proper footwork and follow-through. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target' and 'flick the wrist.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the kicker's ability to convert field goals and extra points, as well as their ability to read and react to defensive schemes. By mastering the Flick Drill, Huskies' kickers will be ready to take on the competition this season.
