Hewitt-Trussville Flag Football Standout Draws Interest from Nebraska, NAIA Programs

๐Ÿ“ Hewitt-Trussville HuskiesยทSunday, July 19, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Hewitt-Trussville Huskies' standout flag football player, Emily Wilson, is generating buzz among college recruiters. The 7A athlete has caught the attention of the University of Nebraska's inaugural flag football program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Additionally, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, have expressed interest in Wilson's skills. Midland University, Nebraska, also has reached out to the Huskies' coaching staff. While UT Arlington's program is still in development, it's unclear if they will offer scholarships in the near future. Wilson's recruitment is a prime example of the growing opportunities for girls flag football players. To capitalize on these opportunities, Wilson is encouraged to focus on her academics, create a highlight tape and send it to interested programs, and participate in summer camps to gain exposure.
