Husky Power: Explosive RB Drill for 7A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Hewitt-Trussville HuskiesยทWednesday, July 22, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies are gearing up for another dominant season, and their running backs are no exception. To develop the explosive power and speed needed to dominate on Friday nights, Coach Thompson's staff has incorporated the 'Husky Blast' drill into their summer training regimen. For this drill, RBs will perform 3 sets of 10 reps with 30 seconds rest between sets. Starting in a 3-point stance, players will explosively drive their feet into the ground, then immediately jump up and land softly on the balls of their feet. Coaching cues include 'Drive, Jump, Land' and 'Fast Feet, Fast Feet.' This drill translates to game performance by improving acceleration, agility, and the ability to quickly change direction on the field.
