Speed and Agility for S Players: Hoover Buccaneers' Summer Camp Drill

๐Ÿ“ Hoover BuccaneersยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the Hoover Buccaneers' summer camp, S players are working on a key drill to improve their speed and agility. The 'Ladder Weave' drill involves setting up a ladder on the field and having players perform a series of footwork exercises. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1) weave through the ladder with the inside foot, 2) jump over the ladder with both feet, and 3) quickly change direction by stepping over the ladder with the outside foot. Coach Thompson emphasizes the importance of keeping the inside foot close to the ground and using the outside foot to push off. This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate on the field, making them a more effective safety.
