Red Devils Rise: WR Drill for Speed and Separation

๐Ÿ“ Central-Phenix City Red DevilsยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Central-Phenix City Red Devils wide receivers, take note. This summer, focus on the 'Route Runner's Repeat' drill to boost your speed and separation on the field. Set up three cones in a zig-zag pattern, 10 yards apart. Perform a 5-yard dash to the first cone, then immediately change direction and sprint to the second cone. Repeat this sequence, finishing with a 10-yard dash to the third cone. Complete 3 sets of 5 reps, resting 60 seconds between sets. Coaching cue: 'Focus on explosive acceleration out of the break and maintain top-end speed.' This drill translates to game performance by improving your ability to quickly change direction and accelerate past defenders, creating separation and increasing your chances of making big plays. By incorporating this drill into your training, you'll be ready to take on the competition this season.
