As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, female athletes in the state of Arkansas are taking notice of the growing opportunities in girls flag football. For Greenwood Bulldogs' standout multisport athlete, Emily Wilson, the decision to pivot to flag football for college is a strategic one. With verified scholarship programs at the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, Wilson is exploring her options. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is offering a Power 4 program that will compete at the highest level. Ottawa University, Kansas, is a national powerhouse with up to 12 scholarships available. Wilson has already begun reaching out to these programs, highlighting her skills on the field and in the classroom. As she prepares for the upcoming season, Wilson is taking concrete steps to increase her chances of securing a scholarship.
