Carson Taylor Commits to SMU
Pulaski Academy quarterback Carson Taylor has committed to SMU for the Class of 2026. The 5A Bruins signal-caller chose the Mustangs over offers from Arkansas, Louisiana Tech and Memphis. Taylor's athletic fit at SMU is centered around the team's fast-paced, spread offense, which he believes will allow him to showcase his skills as a dual-threat quarterback. The Mustangs' depth chart at quarterback is expected to be wide open, giving Taylor an opportunity to compete for immediate playing time. SMU's academic program also appealed to Taylor, who plans to study business in college. Taylor had previously committed to Arkansas State in 2023, but decommitted after a coaching change. He attended SMU's summer camp in June, where he was able to build a relationship with the coaching staff and get a feel for the team's culture.
