Sabercats' Flag Football Talent Poised to Capitalize on Expanding Scholarship Opportunities
The Saguaro Sabercats' strong reputation in Arizona girls flag football is set to attract top talent from the Lone Star State as AIA's pilot district expansion creates new pathways for Texas athletes to pursue collegiate opportunities. With the University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 season on the horizon, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, Arizona's top flag football programs are poised to benefit from the influx of top recruits. Nebraska's Power 4 status and Big Ten affiliation make it an attractive destination for elite flag football players. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, offer NAIA scholarships, with Ottawa University's national powerhouse status and Keiser University's active recruitment making them prime targets for Sabercats' standouts. Midland University, Nebraska, also remains an active recruiter. Texas-based UT Arlington is in development, but not yet offering scholarships.
