Desert Edge Scorpions: Nebraska's 2028 Inaugural Season Brings New Opportunities

๐Ÿ“ Desert Edge ScorpionsยทFriday, July 3, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the University of Nebraska prepares to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 girls flag football program in 2028, prospects from the Desert Edge Scorpions in Goodyear are taking notice. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are actively recruiting top talent for the Big Ten program. For Scorpions players, this means exploring verified scholarship pathways. Ottawa University, Kansas, offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA Division 1 program, is not yet offering scholarships. To increase their chances, Desert Edge athletes should create highlight tapes showcasing their skills and contact these programs directly to inquire about recruitment processes.
