Saguaro Sabercats S Players: Master the 'Shuttle-Box' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Saguaro SabercatsยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The 'Shuttle-Box' drill is a high-intensity workout designed to improve speed, agility, and reaction time for S players at 5A programs like Saguaro Sabercats. To set up the drill, create a 10-yard box with cones and divide players into pairs. One player starts at one end of the box, while their partner lines up at the other end. The player at one end sprints to the other end, then immediately changes direction and sprints back. This sequence is repeated for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include: 'Fast feet, quick hands,' and 'Change direction on the fly.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly read and react to blocking schemes, allowing them to stay one step ahead of defenders.
