Malik Harris Commits to Houston Football Program
Desert Edge cornerback Malik Harris has committed to the University of Houston football program. Harris, a Class of 2026 standout, chose the Cougars over other Power Five offers. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back is a key addition to Houston's secondary, which is expected to feature a multiple defensive back scheme. Harris projects to compete for a starting role as a freshman, given the Cougars' current depth chart. The University of Houston's strong academic programs and research opportunities also played a significant role in Harris' decision. Harris previously held offers from Arizona State and Oregon State before decommitting in April. He attended Houston's summer camp in June, where he impressed coaches with his ball skills and footwork. Harris is expected to sign with the Cougars during the early signing period in December.
