Ohio State Extends Offer to Perry Pumas Safety Caleb Smith

Ohio State has extended an offer to 2025 safety Caleb Smith of the Perry Pumas. Smith, a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back, has been one of the top performers at this summer's AIA football camps. He recorded a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and a 35-inch vertical jump at the AIA's annual football combine. Smith has also been named to the All-Arizona preseason watch list. In addition to the Buckeyes, Smith holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and USC. The highly touted safety is expected to take official visits to all five schools in the coming weeks. Smith's recruiting timeline is expected to heat up in the next month, with a decision likely to be made in the fall. The Perry Pumas will begin their 2026 season in late August.
