Saguaro Sabercats' WRs Get Ready for Fall with the 'Route Runner' Drill
The Saguaro Sabercats' 5A football program is gearing up for another dominant season, and their wide receivers are putting in the work with the 'Route Runner' drill. This high-intensity exercise targets speed, agility, and route-running precision. The drill consists of 3 sets of 5 reps: (1) 10-yard sprint to a designated spot, (2) 5-yard change of direction to a cone, and (3) a 10-yard sprint back to the starting point. Coaches will yell 'Route!' as the player reaches the cone, simulating a quarterback's call. This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, making them a nightmare for defenders to cover. Run this drill 2-3 times a week to see your WRs dominate on the field.
