Unlocking Speed and Agility: Servite Friars' DE Drill
As the summer months heat up, Servite Friars defensive end players are putting in the work to improve their speed and agility. One key drill that has been instrumental in their prep is the 'Ladder Shuffle-Step.' This dynamic exercise targets the quick changes of direction that are crucial for defensive linemen. To perform the drill, players start in a lunge position with their right foot forward, then quickly step into a lateral shuffle, followed by a lateral step with their left foot. They repeat this sequence for 3 sets of 10 reps on each leg. This drill works by improving the player's ability to rapidly transfer weight and generate power, allowing them to explosively change direction on the field. By incorporating the Ladder Shuffle-Step into their training, Servite's DEs are better equipped to outmaneuver opponents and make game-changing plays.
