Summer Prep: De La Salle Spartans CBs' Aggressive Backpedal Drill

Summer is in full swing, and for the De La Salle Spartans' cornerbacks, it's time to refine their skills. One key drill that's been making waves in their summer prep is the Aggressive Backpedal. This drill is designed to improve the CBs' ability to quickly transition from a backpedal to a burst of speed. Here's how to incorporate it into your own training routine: Set up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards behind the second. Start in a backpedal stance, then quickly change direction and sprint to the third cone. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Why it works: By forcing the CB to quickly change direction, this drill improves their agility and reaction time. It also helps build explosive power, allowing them to stay with receivers down the field. Give it a try and see the results for yourself!
