At Open programs like Corona Centennial Huskies, S players need to be fast and agile to keep up with the competition. One effective drill to improve their speed and agility is the 'Cone Weave and Shuttle Run.'

**Drill:**

1. Set up 5 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart.

2. Have the S player start at one end of the cones and weave through them, focusing on quick footwork and change of direction.

3. After completing the weave, have the player perform a shuttle run back and forth between two cones 10 yards apart.

4. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets.

**Coaching Cues:**

- 'Quick feet, quick hands.' Focus on rapid foot movement and hand placement.

- 'Stay low, stay fast.' Maintain a low center of gravity to generate power and speed.

**Why it Translates:**

This drill improves the S player's ability to change direction quickly, making them a threat in the open field. It also enhances their acceleration and deceleration, allowing them to quickly close the gap between themselves and the ball carrier or receiver.
