FridayNightPulse: Folsom Bulldogs' RB Drill for Explosive Gains

๐Ÿ“ Folsom BulldogsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Folsom Bulldogs' running backs will be putting in extra work on a crucial drill that's guaranteed to translate to the gridiron. The 'Bull in the Alley' drill is designed to improve RBs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate through tight spaces. Here's how to run it: Set up 4-6 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Start with 3 sets of 10 reps. RBs will start at one end of the course, then sprint through the cones, focusing on keeping their inside foot close to the cone and exploding out of each turn. Coaches should emphasize 'low and wide' foot placement and 'drive through the turn.' This drill will help RBs develop the quickness and agility needed to break tackles and make big plays in the open field.
