Speed and Agility Drills for S Players at Open Programs

๐Ÿ“ De La Salle SpartansยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At De La Salle Spartans' summer training sessions, S players are working on a crucial drill to improve their speed and agility. The 'Ladder Crossover' drill is a staple in many top programs, and for good reason. It translates directly to game performance, where quick changes of direction are essential for making plays on the ball. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest in between sets. Players start at one end of the ladder, then perform a crossover step with their inside foot, followed by a quick change of direction to the outside foot. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'agility through the hips.' By mastering this drill, S players can improve their ability to stay with receivers and make tackles in space, giving their team a significant advantage on the field.
