Folsom Bulldogs' Speedster Drill: Enhancing 5A S Players

๐Ÿ“ Folsom BulldogsยทMonday, July 6, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Folsom Bulldogs' speedster drill is a high-intensity workout designed to improve 5A S players' acceleration, agility, and deceleration. The drill consists of three sets of 3-5 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explode into a 5-yard dash, quickly changing direction to a 90-degree angle. As they approach the turn, they must slow down and decelerate, using their outside foot to pivot and maintain balance. Coaching cues include 'explosive start,' 'change of direction,' and 'smooth transition.' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps and change direction on the fly, making them more effective in coverage and pursuit.
