Carson Harris Commits to Texas Tech

Mater Dei Monarchs defensive end Carson Harris announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Friday. Harris, a Class of 2026 prospect, chose the Red Raiders over other Power Five offers. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder said he is drawn to Texas Tech's 3-4 defensive scheme, which he believes will allow him to showcase his pass-rushing abilities. Harris also cited the school's strong academic program and the opportunity to contribute immediately on the depth chart. Harris had previously committed to Oregon State but decommitted in May after a coaching change. He has been a key contributor for the Monarchs, recording 24 tackles and 5 sacks as a sophomore. Harris is expected to enroll at Texas Tech in January 2027.
