Darius Taylor Commits to Texas Tech
De La Salle Spartans running back Darius Taylor has committed to Texas Tech, the school announced Friday. Taylor, a 2026 prospect, chose the Red Raiders over other Power Five offers. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound back is expected to fit into Texas Tech's spread offense, which has produced several 1,000-yard rushers in recent years. Taylor will look to contribute to a Red Raiders backfield that lost its top rusher from last season. Academically, Taylor was drawn to Texas Tech's strong engineering program, which aligns with his interests. Taylor previously held offers from Oregon and USC, but ultimately chose Texas Tech for its better fit in the backfield. The Spartans will look to replace Taylor's production in the fall, but the junior's decision is a significant coup for the Red Raiders.
