DeShawn Young Commits to Iowa State Football Program
Valor Christian Eagles defensive end DeShawn Young has committed to the Iowa State Cyclones football program, effective immediately. Young, a Class of 2027 prospect, chose Iowa State after a thorough evaluation of the program's defensive scheme and depth chart opportunities. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound edge rusher is expected to contribute immediately as a freshman, given the Cyclones' projected need for pass rushers. Iowa State's strong academic program and commitment to student-athlete success also played a significant role in Young's decision. Young had previously considered several other Power Five programs, but ultimately decided that Iowa State was the best fit for his athletic and academic goals. He will join the Cyclones in the fall of 2027, pending his completion of high school coursework.
