Building a Stronger O-Line: The Pueblo South Colts' Power Position Drill

๐Ÿ“ Pueblo South ColtsยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the heart of any successful 4A football program is a strong O-line. To build the strength and resilience needed to dominate in the trenches, the Pueblo South Colts' coaching staff has developed a powerful drill that targets the position players' most critical areas. The Power Position Drill involves three sets of 10 reps: set one focuses on proper footwork and hand placement, set two emphasizes explosive power through a 3-step lift, and set three simulates game-like scenarios with a 2-on-1 block. Coaches cue players to 'drive through the blocker' and 'stay low' to maintain leverage. This drill translates to game performance by improving foot speed, power, and technique, allowing Colts' linemen to outmaneuver and overpower opponents.
