Tiger Treadmill: Hand Tigers' RB Drill for Explosive Speed
This summer, Hand Tigers' running backs will be putting in the work on the treadmill with a drill designed to build explosive speed and endurance. The Tiger Treadmill drill consists of 3 sets of 30-second all-out sprints, followed by 30 seconds of active recovery. Coaches will provide cues such as 'explode out of the gate' and 'find your top gear' to emphasize the importance of quick acceleration. The drill will be performed on a 10% incline to simulate the physical demands of running up the sideline. The goal of this drill is to build the RBs' ability to maintain top speed over a longer distance, which will translate to game performance by allowing them to break tackles and make big plays in the open field. The drill will be incorporated into the team's summer camp schedule.
