As the inaugural season of NCAA Division 1 flag football approaches in 2028, Southington Blue Knights multisport athlete Emily Wilson is shifting her focus to the emerging sport. With verified scholarship programs on the rise, Wilson is exploring her options at top flag football programs. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is one of the Power 4 schools set to launch the sport. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are active recruiters. UT Arlington, in development, is also a potential destination.
