Game-Changing CB Drill for Hand Tigers: 'Shadow the Receiver'

๐Ÿ“ Hand TigersยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Hand Tigers cornerbacks can dominate on the field with the 'Shadow the Receiver' drill. Set up a 10-yard line and have a receiver run a 5-yard out route. The CB will start 5 yards off the line, mirroring the receiver's every move. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on staying in phase with the receiver. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the receiver,' 'stay low,' and 'hands up.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, footwork, and spatial awareness. As the CB shadows the receiver, they develop the ability to stay with their assignment and make plays on the ball. This drill is a must-add to any CB's pre-season training regimen.
