Penn State Offers Shelton Safety Caleb Thompson

Penn State has extended a scholarship offer to Class of 2027 safety Caleb Thompson of Shelton High School. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Thompson has been a standout performer on the Gaels' secondary, recording 65 tackles and 5 interceptions last season. He also boasts a 4.5-second 40-yard dash time and a 35-inch vertical jump. Thompson has already received offers from Boston College and UConn, and is also being recruited by UMass and Rhode Island. With his impressive combination of size, speed and ball-hawking skills, Thompson is quickly becoming one of the top safeties in the state of Connecticut. The Gaels' defense will look to Thompson to anchor their secondary this fall, and his recruitment will be one to watch in the coming months.
