Isaiah Thompson Commits to Iowa State
Appoquinimink Jaguars safety Isaiah Thompson, a Class of 2025 standout, has committed to Iowa State University. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back chose the Cyclones over offers from several Power Five programs. Thompson's commitment is a significant addition to Iowa State's secondary, which is expected to feature a more aggressive, man-to-man scheme in 2026. The Jaguars' safety will have the opportunity to compete for a starting spot immediately, given the expected departure of several key defensive backs. Iowa State's academic programs in kinesiology and sports management also appealed to Thompson, who plans to major in one of the two fields. Thompson initially committed to Iowa State in August 2024 but decommitted in February 2026 before reaffirming his pledge to the program. He is expected to participate in Iowa State's summer camp next month.
