Oklahoma Extends Offer to Smyrna's Cameron Thomas
The University of Oklahoma has extended a scholarship offer to Cameron Thomas, a Class of 2026 cornerback from Smyrna High School. Thomas, a standout defender for the Eagles, stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 170 pounds. He recorded 45 tackles and 12 pass breakups last season. Thomas has also received offers from Penn State, Maryland and Virginia Tech, in addition to Oklahoma. The 17-year-old is considered one of the top prospects in the First State, with a 4.5-second 40-yard dash time and a 35-inch vertical jump. Thomas is expected to attend summer camps at Oklahoma and Penn State in July, with a decision on his college destination likely to come in the fall. The recruiting timeline for Thomas is expected to heat up in the coming months, with several Power Five programs still in the mix for his services.
