Appoquinimink Jaguars tight end Caleb Wilson has verbally committed to the University of Houston for the 2027 season. The Class of 2027 standout chose the Cougars due to their pro-style offense, which aligns with his skills as a versatile tight end. Wilson believes he will have an opportunity to contribute immediately, as Houston's tight end depth chart is expected to be competitive. Additionally, the university's strong academic programs, including its business and engineering schools, factored into Wilson's decision. Wilson had previously considered other Division I programs, including Delaware and Maryland, but ultimately chose Houston as the best fit. He is expected to enroll at the university in the summer of 2027 and participate in the team's summer camp.
