Middletown Cavaliers Girls Flag Football Players Eye Expanded Scholarship Opportunities

๐Ÿ“ Middletown CavaliersยทSunday, July 12, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The DIAA's decision to expand its flag football pilot district program in Texas is creating new pathways for female athletes to secure scholarships. The University of Nebraska, which will launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028, is a prime destination for Middletown Cavaliers players. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are actively recruiting top talent from across the country. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also actively recruiting. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA Division 1 program, is not yet offering scholarships. Cavaliers players can take concrete steps to increase their chances of securing a scholarship by attending summer camps and showcases, and by building relationships with coaches at these programs.
