Unlock Explosive Speed: The Middletown Cavaliers' DE Drill
This summer, Middletown Cavaliers defensive end players are putting in the work with a high-intensity drill that's sure to translate to game-day success. The drill: 'Plyometric Box Jumps with Resistance Bands.' Objective: Develop explosive acceleration and power off the snap. Sets: 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Explode off the box, drive through the ground, and extend your legs.' Players will start at a plyometric box (24-30 inches), wearing resistance bands around their legs. On the coach's signal, they'll jump up, landing softly on the balls of their feet, and immediately drive through the ground, extending their legs. This drill enhances speed, agility, and power, allowing DEs to quickly close gaps and make plays in the backfield. It's a game-changer for any defensive end looking to take their game to the next level.
