FridayNightPulse: Building Elite RBs with the 'Chain Reaction' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Caesar Rodney RidersยทWednesday, July 22, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For Division I running backs like Caesar Rodney Riders, dominating on the field requires explosive acceleration and power. The 'Chain Reaction' drill is a game-changer for RBs looking to improve their speed and agility. Set up 5-6 resistance chains or bands of varying resistance on the ground. Have the RB start at one end, then sprint to the next chain, exploding through it as they transition to the next. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cue: 'Snap, pop, repeat.' Focus on quick turnover and explosive acceleration through each chain. This drill translates to game performance by improving the RB's ability to rapidly change direction and accelerate through contact. It's a must-include in any elite RB's pre-season training regimen.
