FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Caesar Rodney Riders' OL Power Position Drill

๐Ÿ“ Caesar Rodney RidersยทWednesday, July 29, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Caesar Rodney Riders' summer camp, OL coach Mike Smith emphasizes the importance of dominating the point of attack. To achieve this, his linemen focus on the Power Position Drill. Set up a 10-yard line with two cones, 5 yards apart. Players start in a 3-point stance, hands on the ground, with their feet shoulder-width apart. On the whistle, they explosively drive their feet into the ground, extending their arms and shoving the cones apart. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cue: 'Drive your feet, extend your arms, and SHOVE!' This drill translates to game performance by improving power, speed, and agility in the trenches. By mastering the Power Position, Riders' OL can control the line of scrimmage and pave the way for their offense.
