Texas Offers Lakeland QB Tyler Jackson
The Texas Longhorns have extended a scholarship offer to Tyler Jackson, the dual-threat quarterback from Lakeland High School. Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound signal-caller, has a strong arm and impressive speed, boasting a 4.6-second 40-yard dash time. He led the Dreadnaughts to a 9-2 record in 2025, throwing for 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns. Jackson has already received offers from Florida and Louisville, and is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the Class of 2027. The Lakeland native has been a standout at several summer camps, including the FHSAA's annual quarterback showcase. Jackson is expected to attend several camps and combine events over the next few months, including the Under Armour Next All-American Camp in July. He plans to announce his top five schools by the end of August, with a commitment decision likely to follow in early September.
