Cocoa Tigers CBs: Master the 'Shuttle Shuffle' Drill
Cocoa Tigers cornerbacks are gearing up for a dominant 4A season, and a key component of their training regimen is the 'Shuttle Shuffle' drill. This high-intensity exercise targets the quick changes of direction and foot speed that CBs need to excel in the secondary. To run the drill, set up two cones 5 yards apart. Players start at one cone, shuffle 3 yards to the other cone, then immediately backpedal 3 yards to the first cone. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing CBs to rapidly transition between backpedaling and shuffling, mirroring the quick changes of direction they'll face on the field. By incorporating the 'Shuttle Shuffle' into their training, Cocoa Tigers CBs will be better equipped to handle the fast-paced action of 4A football.
