Defensive End Power Blast Drill for Lakeland Dreadnaughts

๐Ÿ“ Lakeland DreadnaughtsยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Lakeland Dreadnaughts defensive end prospects can take their pass rush to the next level with the Power Blast drill. The goal is to develop explosive power and speed off the snap. Set up a line of cones 10 yards apart, with a defender on each cone. The quarterback will stand 10 yards behind the line, with a focus on quick release. The defender must explode off the line, striking the quarterback with a powerful blast, then immediately recover to the cone. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 60 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Blast, don't push!' and 'Recover, don't chase!' This drill translates to game performance by teaching defenders to generate power quickly and maintain control, allowing them to disrupt the quarterback's timing and create turnovers.
