As the FHSAA flag football pilot district expansion creates new opportunities for Texas athletes, the Apopka Blue Darters are focusing on verified scholarship programs. According to sources, University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 season under coaches Liz and Katie Sowers will offer D1 scholarships. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, awards up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are actively recruiting. UT Arlington's developing D1 program is expected to offer scholarships in the future. Apopka players can explore these programs through summer camps, online research, and direct communication with coaches. The Blue Darters' coaching staff will also provide guidance on the application process.
