Buford Wolves girls flag football athletes now have access to more verified scholarship programs following the GHSA's announcement of a flag football pilot district expansion in Texas. The move creates new pathways for Texas athletes to secure scholarships at the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers at the University of Nebraska are actively recruiting top talent for the program's inaugural 2028 season. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Athletes interested in securing scholarships should focus on developing their skills through summer camps and highlight tapes. The Buford Wolves should be on the radar of these programs due to their strong reputation in 6A competition.
