Elevate Your Coverage: Collins Hill Eagles CB Drill

๐Ÿ“ Collins Hill EaglesยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Collins Hill Eagles cornerbacks can take their game to the next level with the 'Shadow and Mirror' drill. Designed to improve reaction time and technique, this drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps. Set 1: Players start in a backpedal stance, focusing on keeping their eyes on the quarterback. On the coach's signal, they quickly transition into a 'shadow' position, mirroring the receiver's movements. Set 2: Introduce a 'mirror' component, where the CB must match the receiver's footwork and body positioning. Set 3: Add a 'react' element, where the CB must quickly change direction to stay with the receiver. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the quarterback' and 'stay one step ahead.' This drill translates to game performance by improving CBs' ability to read the quarterback and stay with receivers in man coverage.
